Is the heat of summer already getting you down? Why not take a break on June 22nd and enjoy a the opportunity to get a real supernatural chill. On June 22nd, you can sit in the comfort of a cool, dark theater, with someone special to hold your hand, and watch the a film based on Stephen King’s short story… “1408”. I have enjoy a good horror or suspense film and many of movies adapted from Stephen King’s books and stories are the most memorable. This film appears to be a worthy addition to the list of productions based upon the work of Stephen King which spans 30 years and includes “Cujo”, “The Shining” (One of my favorite films by my favorite director), “The Langoliers” (a TV miniseries, but still pretty good) , “Creepshow”, and “Salem’s Lot”. Like “The Shining”, the 1408 Movie is set a posh and prestigious hotel, the Dolphin Hotel… a hotel with a well known, but unspoken secret. Starring John Cusack, as horror novelist Mike Enslin, and Samuel L. Jackson, as the manager of the Dolphin Hotel, the plot has Mike Enslin checking into the Dolphin Hotel to stay in the haunted hotel room 1408. Mike hopes to debunk the paranormal myth and having another best seller. Since Mike only believes what he sees for himself, he must stay… the whole night. So, if you want to sit in a nice, cool, dark theater and munch popcorn with your special someone. Get some supernatural chills running up your spine in the heat of summer. You should give the a try. This movie is rated PG-13
